"5th Çermik Book Fair" opened its doors in Diyarbakır

62 writers and 103 publishing houses attended the fair organized by the District Governorship and the Municipality at Çermik Sports Hall.
The fair, where 345 thousand books meet with readers, also includes activities such as game and skill workshops, clown shows, open-air cinema, concerts and author talks.

🔹 AA Live for instant developmentsÇermik District Governor Adem Karataş told the press members that they were happy to open the 5th book fair in the district with great interest from young people and book lovers.
Karataş stated that the book fair will be open to visitors until Sunday, May 11, and that they are waiting for everyone at the fair.
Karataş, explaining that they will add color to the fair with various activities, said, "Books should be at the center of human life. Unfortunately, with social media and other factors, we have become a little cold towards books today. Books are a world that matures and beautifies our lives. I find it very valuable to bring our youth and children to these meaningful fairs so that they can touch and smell books."
Çermik Mayor Şehmus Karamehmetoğlu also stated that they were happy to take part in a study outside of classical municipal services.
Karamehmetoğlu, who stated that they do not spare any effort for future generations, said, "We need to raise good youth. Investing in education is investing in people, and investing in people is investing in the future of the country. We are doing our best with this motto."
District National Education Director Murat Bozdoğan also stated that they will be in contact with everyone from 7 to 70 years of age for 7 days in the province thanks to the fair and that there will be more than 70 events at the fair.
Bozdoğan said, "Our children are far from Diyarbakır and are deprived of many activities in our district. We want to overcome this with this fair. In addition to instilling book awareness in our children, we will also carry out many social activities."
Çermik Book Fair can be visited until May 11th.
